Arc of Dearborn County Barbeque Dinner and Auction
A scrumptious selection of barbequed entrées, catered by ‘Walt’s Texas Style Barbeque’ restaurant in Harrison, will be enjoyed when members of The Arc of Dearborn County hold their first-ever fundraiser dinner and auction. The event will be held at St. John Catholic Church parish hall in Dover, Indiana on Sunday, May 3, 2009.
The Bar-b-que Revue and Auction will offer a casual Texas picnic-style theme. The evening will kick-off at 5:00 p.m. with an introduction and visual presentation of The Arc of Dearborn County to its guests. Participants will have time to peruse silent auction items until an announced after-dinner time when bids will close. A number of items will also be available for live auction.
An array of items will be auctioned with many ideal for graduates or Mother’s Day gifts, along with various surprises including jewelry, artistic objects, and items suitable for gardeners or car enthusiasts.
Members of The Arc of Dearborn County extend a gracious thank you for the donations made by many generous businesses within Dearborn County, as well as donors in outlying counties including in the towns of Sunman and Harrison.
Proceeds will go toward a summer day-camp and other programs sponsored by The Arc of Dearborn County.
Ticket cost is $10.00 and includes a choice of barbequed pulled-pork or -chicken, or beef brisket, side dishes, dessert and a drink. Advance tickets may be purchased from any member or from Cathy Dunevant by calling 812-637-3911.
The Arc of Dearborn County, a non-profit organization, is part of The Arc of Indiana and The Arc of the United States, whose members are advocates for the rights and full participation of all children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
