The Dearborn County Commissioners’ March 17 meeting decided to table discussions regarding the proposed Bright Fire Department district plan.

The meeting this evening was very well attended and there were many good comments made to the county commissioners.  There was widespread support for the Bright Volunteer Fire Company but there was overwhelming concerns about the timing of the proposed new taxes, using the property tax assessment to determine the amount of the additional taxes, the way the proposal was presented to the commissioners and communicated to the public, and the lack of information to support the proposal.
