Sunman Dearborn Youth Athletic Association Baseball has purchased 500 Cincinnati Reds Tickets for the following two games: Monday, May 24th vs Pittsburgh Pirates and Tuesday, May 25th vs Pittsburgh Pirates.
The tickets were purchased through the Kid Glove Program. The Cincinnati Reds have sponsored the Kid Glove Program for over 61 years.
The price of the Kid Glove ticket is $8.00/ticket, instead of the normally priced $14.00/ticket for a View level seat. Teams/organizations then receive 100 percent back from the ticket sales to purchase equipment for the following year.
In 2009, over thirty (30) ton of equipment was purchased for the 2010 season for all teams/organizations participating in the Kid Glove program.
SDYAA Baseball is a 501 ( C ) 3 organization and is a newly formed branch of the Sunman Dearborn Youth Athletic Association organization (football and cheerleading) that has taken over the Recreation Program offered through Sunman Dearborn Schools for both baseball and slow pitch softball. For our 1st year, we have over 400 players ranging in ages from 4 years of age through 18 years of age.
We are counting on our community to help support this program and I want to thank you in advance by joining us at one of the Reds games listed above.
Please contact Chad Kelly at (513) 419-9248 or via email at ckelly@processplus.com.
Thanks again for your support!

Cub Scout Pack 693 had a special visitor at their pack meeting this evening. The Dearborn County Sheriff Department K-9 unit brought Tjardi, the department police dog. Tjardi showed the boys and their families all the work a police dog goes through to help fight crime. He sniffed illegal substances and showed how to track down and capture a suspect.

Sunman-Dearborn Community School will be hosting a community meeting on Tuesday, March 16, 2010 beginning at 7:00 p.m. at Bright Elementary School. The purpose of this meeting is to gather suggestions and recommendations from parents and residents regarding ways to reduce the budget deficits in the School Corporation. Proposals such as new fundraising campaigns and cost saving measures will be welcome. Ideas should be submitted in writing, so that they can be thoroughly reviewed by independent parent volunteers, and may be confidential. Written submissions will be compiled into one document and will be presented to the school board and superintendent. Any interested person who may not be able to attend the community meeting can email proposals to: suggestions@sunmandearborn.k12.in.us.
This meeting is meant to be a brainstorming session only. Proposals will not be discussed by those in attendance. Members of the school board, administration, and the school superintendent will be present for support purposes only. The financial situation faced by this community affects all of us, and by working together we can create a plan that will ensure the success of our schools in the future.
The Sunman-Dearborn School Board will hold it’s March Board Meeting at Sunman-Dearborn Middle School on Thursday March 11, at 7:00 P.M.
